To date, the utilization of emerging data technologies in healthcare has been limited by concerns about security and and a lack of interoperability. Medscient is utilizing the latest blockchain and distributed ledger technologies to retain the integrity of patient health data at every step of the data sharing process. The growing amount of devices and data created by the "Internet of Things" (IoT) increases the importance of interoperability and analytics if we are to create lasting positive impact on overall patient outcomes. Healthcare data systems should stay completely self-contained, communicating in their natural format and associated native protocols. While this lowers costs and improves flexibility, it does create a problem: How to get these systems to communicate? Medscient solves this problem with an innovative tool we call Encapsul8.

Encapsul8 is a format and protocol agnostic tool that ingests data in its native format via its natural protocol, transforming and enriching the data; then, depositing it in a format exactly compatible with the destination receiving system. It is infinitely scalable and can handle high volumes of traffic, while monitoring the resulting live streams (without storing them) and applying user-supplied rules in the process. External systems can subscribe to the events being monitored, creating real-time triggers that facilitate real-time actions.
